Start of 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) on 5 November 2011 from Alicante on the Mediterranrean coast of Spain. The first leg sailed out of the Mediterranean through the Straits of Gibralter and then to Cape Town. At this start, the VOR invited everyone who had taken part in earlier Volvo Ocean Race or Whitbread Round the World Race to join a Legends Regatta in the week leading up to the start of the VOR.
